-"It is natural to hold the conference at the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine, which has broad experience in Net-based health services and health information, in Norway and internationally," commented Ansgar Gabrielsen in a press release.
The conference is to be held in collaboration with Luxembourg, which currently holds the EU presidency, and the European Commission. Markos Kyprianou, EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, and Viviane Reding, Commissioner for Information Society and Media, will participate in the conference. A total of seven ministers had registered for the E-health seminar even before the invitation was issued.
The conference will focus on public health and look at issues such as how to improve the availability and quality of the health services, patient safety and productivity. The conference will also address the subject of patient mobility and access to health services as well as increasing the mobility of health staff in and between the countries in Europe.
The conference includes an exhibition where each country is invited to display the best national ICT systems associated with health.
